I wasn’t blown away by any of the performances tonight. They were good but nothing memorable. Pretty similar to last season’s finale. The performances from the previous weeks were more memorable. Not a big deal though. We’ve all seen what we need to see.
The around-the-world challenge was a little too long. It’s not as fun to watch when the performances are a few minutes long.
For SoReal Cru, I wasn’t a fan of their A Millie performance. You say you guys wanted to dance to that song all season long so I was expecting something big but it was a pretty standard performance in my eyes. Plus they seemed to use the whole dance as a way to attack Super Cr3w. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but it made them look like they seemed threatened by Super Cr3w. It’s not the route I would’ve taken but hey, I’m not on the show.
As for who I think should win…it’s pretty clear to me that Super Cr3w should win. I mean, JC said it best when he said Super Cr3w does things that no one else can do. I’ve seen SoReal Cru before. As a matter of fact I’ve seen a better version of SoReal Cru before and they are Kaba Modern. So for even that fact alone, Super Cr3w should get the cash. As for who actually does, we’ll see in a week.
Another great commercial from Nike featuring the song “All These Things That I’ve Done” by The Killers. In it are Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Cristiano Ronaldo, Carl Lewis, and a bunch of other athletes. Very similar to their SPARQ Training commercials. Take a look.
Super Cr3w is sick. Both performances…sick. I liked the first one better. I thought that was the best performance of the night.
Fanny Pak is sick. Both performances…sick. But I think they just tried a little too hard to suck up to the judges with their second performance. And it seemed kind of short. I’m nitpicking though.
SoReal Cru…definitely did not deserve an automatic bid to the finals. First performance was eh. Second performance was great but I was a little confused watching it. Overall they weren’t as good as the other two though.
If it was up to me, I would’ve picked Super Cr3w to move on but that’s just because I’d personally rather watch them. It was obviously a tough choice for the judges to pick between the two groups. Like JC said, it’s like you have one crew (Super Cr3w) who is the best at one thing (athleticism/stunts) and another crew (Fanny Pak) who is the best at another thing (creativity/humor). I was actually SHOCKED that Fanny Pak was eliminated. I honestly thought they were gonna move on and one of the dudes from Super Cr3w seemed to think so also. I am happy Super Cr3w advanced to the finals but I can’t lie at all about this…I’m a little upset to see Fanny Pak go. I was a total hater at first but they really showed they deserved to be on the show way more than a bunch of the other crews.
As for my prediction…normally I would say SoReal Cru has no shot to win this thing but I would’ve said they had no shot to make it the finals…and they did. So I’m still gonna say Super Cr3w is gonna take this home. Hey America…listen to Fanny Pak and vote right.
Hard to believe…already the 7th week but here goes:
Lil’ Mama should not be giving life advice. She really should not be talking. She shouldn’t be on this show. She’s 17 years old. Why is she giving advice to anyone.
With that said, I liked this Missy Elliott challenge. She makes music to dance to and she always has a dance-oriented video. And she dances herself. Perfect artist to do one of these with.
At least America was right this week. They got the right two at the bottom (though Fanny Pak sent a HUGE message).
I really like the camaraderie between all the groups this season. There’s a lot of love going on and I enjoy it. Nice to see the Boogie Bots giving a shout out to Supreme Soul during their little video by wearing their stuff. Too bad they weren’t very Supreme Soul-like on the stage.
I was really bitter when I saw their performance. Because it just validated what Lil’ Mama said (still shouldn’t have been said though). I was expecting them to really kill it this week but their performance was horrible. Straight up. Just pathetic. But they were graceful and respectful (just like they’ve been all season) even in defeat. Maybe Lil’ Mama can learn a little something from THEM.
I am still waiting for Supreme Soul to perform.
I hope they picked next week’s episode to be an 80’s theme before they realized Fanny Pak would be in the final three because they have a huge advantage for obvious reasons. Because now it seems like MTV wants a Super Cr3w vs Fanny Pak final as it would be the ultimate clash in styles and interesting to see. The Jabbawockeez would smash them both though.
I’m still trying to figure out what was South African about Fanny Pak’s performance.
THE FINAL THREE:
Fanny Pak – I mean. I hate to say it. But they were the best crew tonight. By far. They moved away from those stupid shock moments (well except being afraid of Super Cr3wbut that was clever) and just focused on their show. Their performance definitely went with the song and the whole theme worked. Missy’s songs and videos are always way out there and Fanny Pak’s performance was out there. Their attention to detail with the costumes, theme, dancing, props, etc. was great and they brought it all together for the final performance. Superb job.
Super Cr3w – They had a great performance BUT I didn’t like it as much as the judges did. I’m probably just nitpicking but I thought there could’ve been some more tricks. Yeah. Probably nitpicking but after watching Fanny Pak they definitely should’ve added some tricks.
SoReal Cru – Again. Very together. They all performed as a unit. It really looked like they were all together. Nothing blew me away though. The intro was nice and creative but they gotta be more exciting to win it all.
An egregious error by America this week. That’s all I can say to start off.
It really is pathetic that Super Cr3w and Supreme Soul were in the bottom two. I guess I could understand Supreme Soul because they haven’t been all that consistent but having Super Cr3w there is disgraceful. And two weeks in a row! Just horrible. No way Super Cr3w should’ve been at the bottom. Supreme Soul should’ve been going against Fannie Pak or Boogie Bots and they should be moving on but what can you do. Like I said, SS wasn’t all that consistent and you could say it’s their own fault for being in that position. If they were better early on in the season then maybe they’d still be on. But then again, if Super Cr3w was in the bottom two then maybe not.
Those two were BY FAR the best crews of the night. And I loved the display of emotion from both of them.
Lil’ Mama totally sold out the Boogie Bots.
I’m a total ‘bag for saying this but it was kind of funny when Aileen said she’s been a disappointment to her parents her whole life. Then again I probably think it’s funny because I can relate.
Someone should’ve done some stepping.
GREAT SAVED BY THE BELL REFERENCE AC. GREAT JOB.
And now the rankings:
Super Cr3w – These guys are crazy. Crazy as in good and crazy as in they got a huge pair on them. All of them. I can’t believe the dude did a flip off the rim. Ridiculous. Best performance of the night, along with Supreme Soul. I think they did a better job of dancing with the basketballs than using them to make a beat though. I loved the Team USA jerseys. But I didn’t love them wearing Kobe’s#10. C’mon guys…rock LeBron’s#6. I also found it weird that one of the guys didn’t have the Nike swoosh on his jersey. Maybe he’s endorsed by a company or something.
Supreme Soul – I usually leave off the crew that got eliminated but I gotta put these guys on. I loved the premise, the home/away jerseys, the ref, the fighting, the tricks, everything. I did see some recycled moves though. Regardless, they should still be moving on to next week.
Boogie Bots – Although Lil’ Mama completely sold them out and said she wasn’t excited by them, I enjoyed their performance tonight. Nothing mind-blowing (and nothing compared to the top two crews) but still entertaining. But like I said before, these guys got a lot of fans for some reason. Their friends must be hacking the votes or something.
SoReal Cru – I was a little underwhelmed by their performance to be honest. Technically, they were good. They are very cohesive and are together and all that but it wasn’t that fun. The dudes showed some athleticism doing some tricks but overall I actually thought it could’ve been more fun. They were like the San Antonio Spurs tonight: fundamentally great but not that entertaining to watch.
Fanny Pak – These guys are great dancers no question. They were just so off tonight and weren’t together. JC pointed out the jump rope tricks and how not together the girls were. Again, it just seems like they try to add too much of a bang in the non-dancing aspects like the…banging in the locker room and the pictures of JC and AC. Didn’t get the point of the fat suit either.
Until next week…hopefully Super Cr3w won’t be in the bottom again.
Seems like this WNBA brawl between the Detroit Shock and the LA Sparks is making headlines. I guess I’ll throw in my two cents for what it’s worth.
Pierson of the Shock instigated the whole thing with an Ulf Samuelsson hip check on Candace Parker. Parker then kept it going by pulling Pierson’s arm, forcing her to fall to the ground (though Pierson held on to Parker’s arm making her fall down as well).
Pierson then got all pissed off I guess and marched towards Candace like a storm trooper. But then (and this is the most uncalled for part in my opinion), Candace decided to turn into “Rampage” Parker and tossed Pierson to the ground. Now c’mon. Whatever happened to standing up and getting in the person’s face and cursing him (her) out then taking it from there. Totally uncalled for. But she definitely got some street cred now. Adidas should immediately release her signature shoe to take advantage of all the pub.
What a total flop by Lisa Leslie. I mean c’mon. Rick Mahorn was clearly not trying to do anything to harm her. Please. Like a 6′10 270 lb man really wants to push a woman in front of a 500 person crowd and another 500 people watching on national television. She fell on her own. And to top it off, she cried.
Who the hell was that woman punching Mahorn in the back? Like that’s gonna do something.
The sad part of this whole brouhaha is that Cheryl Ford tore her ACL. And because of her own stupid teammate. Apparently she tore it on the play before but she looked alright inbetween that play and the fight. Well, at least now her and Karl Malone can have some quality father/daughter time.
Sadly, I was one of those 500 people watching on TV.
Judge for yourself.
And just for fun…here’s the “other” brawl at the Palace.
I wish Michigan hasn’t blown so badly against Ohio St. lately so I could comment more about Carson Palmer’s comments about the Buckeyes. I’m not a USC fan but I agree with him. Ohio St. fans are so damn annoying. But this got me thinking about the most annoying fan bases in all of sports. Let me break it down by sport.
MLB
The Most Annoying
New York Yankees fans – The most annoying fans in the world. The most bandwagon fans in the world. The most unreasonable fans in the world. The most annoying female fans in the world. I wonder how many girls will cheer the Yankees when Jeter retires.
A Close Second
Boston Red Sox fans - With the team’s recent wave of success, I suppose they deserve to be a little annoying but they’ve been taking it to a whole new level. Pretty much Boston fans in general are just annoying as hell, especially with that accent and all. I just hope the Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics start blowing so nobody will have to suffer anymore. Thank God for the New York Giants and Super Bowl XLII.
Coming On Strong
New York Mets fans – I’m a Mets fan but I have to admit…our fans are becoming downright delusional (ie. turning into Yankee fans but without the bandwagoners). The owners open up their checkbooks and all of a sudden we have to (and deserve to) get every star available. How could the Rockies turn down a deal of Aaron Heilman for Matt Holliday? C’mon.
NFL
The Most Annoying
Dallas Cowboys fans – America’s Team. That just screams bandwagon.
A Close Second
Philadelphia Eagles fans – I think everyone knows about their well-documented hostility. Maybe that’s not annoying. Just wrong.
Coming On Strong
It’s a tough call. Patriots, Browns, Steelers and Jets fans come to mind. Who would you say?
NBA
The Most Annoying
Los Angeles Lakers fans – They pretty much cover every base when it comes to annoying fans. Only care when the team is winning. Boo Kobe when he’s struggling. Become “hardcore” fans once the team becomes good. Few people who actually care about the team. Etc., etc.
A Close Second
Boston Celtics fans – See Boston Red Sox fans. The Celtics only matter now because KG came and brought them a championship.
Coming On Strong
It’s a tough call but right now it’s gotta be Cleveland Cavaliers fans. I’ve gone to a few of their message boards and the amount they overvalue their players is incredible. They think they should be able to trade Anderson Varejao for Gerald Wallace. Or Daniel Gibson for Monta Ellis. I find it amazing they still can’t figure out that LeBron makes everyone around him a billion times better and that really, the entire team blows. Plus Cleveland fans have actually booed LeBron. Oh well, we only gotta deal with them for a couple more years, when he comes to New York so we can start being annoying.
College Football/Basketball
I can’t even rank this one. There are just too many annoying fan bases. Ohio St. and Notre Dame probably have the most annoying ones in football. Tough to say who is worse. Overall I’d probably say ND but lately it’s gotta be OSU. It doesn’t look like Ohio St. is gonna be bad any time soon either so I guess we’re just gonna have to deal with it longer. A lot of the SEC schools (Florida, Alabama, Arkansas, etc.) are pretty annoying. USC also. Like I said…too many to name. You could probably make a case for any BCS school.
Basketball it’s gotta be Duke by far. I don’t even want to get into it. I’m biased of course but I also can’t hide the fact that UNC fans are really annoying too. Everyone just likes UNC because they know Michael Jordan went there and the bandwagoners are coming back because the Tar Heels are good again. Plus I can’t stand those schools that are good for a little while and think they’re a college basketball powerhouse. Memphis fans beware…your school is gonna fall off soon and the Tigers won’t be the powerhouse you think you are right now. I even came across a Rutgers fan come to a UNC message board just to say they can beat UNC. Add two 5-star recruits to an 11-20 team and all of a sudden you’re championship contenders. Please.
Look at these nerds.
Well, that’s all I got about that. Agree? Disagree? Vehemently disagree? Did I miss anyone? Leave a comment and share who you think has the most annoying fans.
After hearing a lot of crap from people about my rankings I decided to rewatch the episode and redo my rankings because quite honestly…I wasn’t surprised that I was way off. This episode still didn’t do it for me though. I hope it’s better next time. But after rewatching the episode I realized:
Lil’ Mama still sucks.
I still think ASIID got the shaft.
Super Cr3w is definitely making the final two.
Nothing groundbreaking I know, but the biggest thing I realized is how much better the Jabbawockeez are than any of these crews (yes even Super Cr3w). It seems like this season is all about who is the most clever and who does the most tricks. There really isn’t that much dancing. The Jabbas actually did a lot of dancing whlie integrating their storyline aspects and some stunts along the way. Anyway…onto the (revised) rankings.
SoReal Cru (originally #5) – Great job by me having them in last before. Well I was wrong. They definitely had the best performance of the week. I still think they’re bottom two next week though.
Super Cr3w (originally #3) – Feel the same way.
Supreme Soul (originally #4) – Andyadontstop points out how SS rocked the Philly gear to show their love to Phresh Select. I agree…very classy move and it was evident last week how much respect they had for each other.
Boogie Bots (originally #1) – I still really liked their performance but then I realized how much better everyone else did.
Fannie Pak (originally #2) – I changed my mind. I’m putting them last.
This week’s episode wasn’t that good. Probably because Janet Jackson’s dancing isn’t that fun to watch. Impressive sure, but not very entertaining for a show like this.
Lil’ Mama always ceases to amaze me. Wait…that doesn’t sound right. Oh…that’s because it’s NOT right. But that’s what she said (…) to Fanny Pak. Great job. (On a side note. I just found out that she’s 18. One small part of me now can understand why she says so many dumb things. Another part of me is even more bitter as to 1) why MTV hired her in the first place at the ripe old age of 17 and 2) why they even kept her after the first season. Amazing.
It’s funny how Shane and JC never agree with Lil’ Mama when she’s the first to comment. Then she gets all pissed off when they disagree and interrupts them when they speak.
Boogie Bots always seem to get the biggest cheers. They got a lot of fans. No wonder they made the top three.
Pathetic Vitamin Water product placement attempt.
Pretty crazy that the best crew all season long and the best crew from last week (and the crew that probably should’ve dominated the most this week) were in the bottom two. Highly unexpected. It would’ve been a shame if Super Cr3w was sent home tonight (and it’s arguable that they should’ve been) and I think the judges realized this. It was unfortunate for ASIID though because they did put on a good performance and they’ve been good all season long. I think politics was the reason ASIID lost. The judges would’ve picked them over every other crew.
Only five crews left but I had a real tough time ranking them.
Boogie Bots (#5 LW) – Though the top spot may be undeserved, I actually really liked their performance this week. They did the Janet thing, they did the robotic thing and they were REAL creative with the evolution thing.
Fanny Pak (#3 LW) – I did not want to put them here. I had them #4 at first because I wanted to hate on them. Their performance was good but 1) I haven’t seen anything really 80’s in their performances and 2) they’re trying too hard. They are going for shock value and trying to do things to get people to remember (and vote for) them. But I can’t use those to take away from their dancing so I’m gonna put them here as much as I don’t want to.
Super Cr3w (#6 LW) – I wouldn’t go out of my way to praise them as much as Shane did, but I appreciated they listened to what the judges wanted from them and put some more dancing in. They did a good job with that and the breaking was, as usual, incredible. The end part wasn’t really dancing but still fun to watch.
Supreme Soul (#2 LW) – I was a fan of their performance. Not as much as Lil’ Mama was but I didn’t hate it as much as JC and Shane.
SoReal Cru (#4 LW) – Someone’s gotta be last. I just put them here because I think they’ll be eliminated next.
